Catalina Pool Builders was established by brothers Scott, Leland and Joshua Seyfferth in 2008, and opened a retail showroom in Severna Park, Maryland in 2009. The firm specializes in custom-designed in-ground pools and has been recognized with a “Best of Annapolis” award for four years in a row.

Catalina Pool Builders provides site assessment, design, tile and coping, water feature selection and installation, as well as a full range of pool maintenance and restoration services. The three brothers tapped their father, Kip, to serve as general manager.

All four of the firm’s leaders worked previously in the industry, and decided to open their own company after experiencing layoffs during the recession. As a team, they bring an ideal balance of skills to the business, including expertise in sales, estimating, operations, construction and maintenance.

The company has grown from 6 pools constructed in their first year to 207 pools designed and built in 2015, plus more than $1M in renovations and maintenance services delivered to satisfied customers. For the Seyfferths, success in the business is rooted in a few key priorities. First, they invested aggressively in advertising when competitors were cutting their marketing efforts, and they committed to building a strong sales force. In addition, they work diligently to support their ongoing customers, which results in nearly a quarter of new business coming from referrals.

Kip Seyfferth has known the leaders of BradyRenner for many years, going back to his work with Sylvan Pools in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, he relies on Matt Brady, CPA for his business accounting needs and Jim Renner, EA for his personal taxes.
